In the final, the blue-yellows lost to the Karlovy Vary team
Ukrainian U-17 Youth Hockey Team lost the final match at a friendly tournament Trinec Open Cup in the Czech Republic. Young Ukrainians lost to the team Karlovy Vary — 1:5.
The big score does not fully reflect the content of the game. It was tied for a long time. Ukraine U-17 even took the lead in the second period thanks to a goal by Daniil Olifirchuk.
But then the local hockey players evened the score, took the lead, and at the very end, when the blue-yellows already had to take risks, they hit the opponent’s goal three more times.
Let us recall that the Ukrainian youths got to the finals thanks to the fact that they managed to win their group. Earlier in the tournament, Ukraine U-17 beat Red Bull Salzburg (5:2), lost to Sparta in a shootout (4:5), defeated Swedish Regle (9:0) and beat Czech Vitkovice in a shootout (3:2).
