“A new arena is always a problem. And I want Avangard’s first home game to go smoothly.” – Krylov

Chairman of the Board of DirectorsAvant-garde Alexander Krylov commented on the situation with the construction of a new hockey arena in Omsk.

For several seasons the club played in Balashikha near Moscow. The 2022/23 Avangard Championship was due to start in Omsk at the new arena, but the deadline for the stadium’s completion is postponed.

– What do you think of the fact that Avangard will play the first 12 games of the championship on the road?

– In any case, we will play as many away games as everyone else. We are insured. A new arena is always a challenge. And I want Avangard’s opening game at G‑Drive Arena to go well. We need this month from September 1st to October 1st to set up all the systems, to conduct several test events in order not to lose face.

We’ve been through so much together, we’ve been through so much, but the last one lives on in our memories. And if at the last stage we hit our faces in the dirt, then it will be remembered. And not the heroic path we all walked together. Therefore, let’s calmly prepare the arena in a month and start the season with dignity in the new beautiful palace,” Krylov told reporters.
