New Jersey assistant general manager Dan MacKinnon said the Russian forward SKA Arseniy Gritsyuk wants to play in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Gritsyuk was selected by New Jersey with the 129th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. On July 31, SKA re-signed Gritsyuk to a one-year contract. Last season, the 23-year-old forward played 60 games for the St. Petersburg military team and scored 44 (23+21) points.
— Gritsyuk is a talented, experienced guy and he wants to come and play in the NHL. I know very well that he wants to play in the NHL. We just have to see if we can do it in a year,” MacKinnon was quoted as saying by the league’s press service.
Last season, the Devils finished 13th in the Eastern Conference standings and did not make the playoffs.
