Finnish forward Laine left Columbus for Montreal in trade

Finnish striker “Columbus” Patrick Laine moved to “Montreal” following the exchange, reported on website Canadian club NHL .

The Canadiens also received a second-round pick in the 2026 draft. In the opposite direction, the deal sent defenseman Jordan Harris.

In January, Laine took advantage of the NHL’s Player Assistance Program, which helps hockey players deal with alcohol and drug addictions, as well as various psychological issues.

Last season, Laine, 25, played 18 games for Columbus, scoring 9 (6+3) points. Laine was selected in the first round, second overall, at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In total, the Finn has played 480 NHL games for Winnipeg and Columbus, scoring 388 (204+184) points.
