On Tuesday, Yaroslavl Lokomotiv announced the termination of the contract with Chekhovich. Earlier in August, the Yaroslavl club put the hockey player on the refusal list.
“Lokomotiv told us a long time ago that there would be no further cooperation, we were looking for options with the exchange club. The news about the termination of the contract did not come as a surprise. At the moment there is no possibility of hiring Ivan, we are working in this direction,” Babaev told .
In the 2023/24 season, the 25-year-old forward played 59 KHL regular season games and scored 11 (4+7) points. In the playoffs, the forward collected 4 (2+2) points in 12 games.
