Chairman of the Board of DirectorsAvant-garde Alexander Krylov believes that fighting is an integral part of hockey, but the bottom line is that there shouldn’t be any dirt.
Earlier, the match between Sochi and Avangard at the Sochi Hockey Open pre-season tournament began with a massive brawl of hockey players, which drew a lot of criticism from southerners.
– What do you think of the fights in the match Sochi – Avangard?
– The main thing is that there is no dirt. Hockey is a contact sport, combat is an integral part of it. When there are special people for the fights who come out to “kill” – that’s one thing. And here everything was fair. We were offered – we accepted the challenge, fought. And here we have to say thanks to their coach Nazarov – he involuntarily took part in our team building. The team rallied and showed a good game in the next game.
– For the first time in history, Avangard can win the Sochi tournament. How important is it to you?
– It’s important for our coach Dmitry Ryabykin in terms of confidence. This is his first tournament as a head coach. And so everyone understands that this is a pre-season tournament, and here the important thing is not victory, but unity. First, you need to read the links. But if we win here, it will be very good,” Krylov told reporters.
