Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vyacheslav Bykov said his 11-year-old grandson Ivan has dual citizenship.
— Is your grandson a Swiss citizen?
— He has two passports. Russian and Swiss. He was born in Switzerland and automatically received a passport of that country. And then we granted him Russian citizenship. All our family members have Russian passports.
— Does your grandson feel Russian or Swiss?
— His idols are our hockey players. Goalkeepers and forwards. His defenders are not so impressive: after all, this is not the brightest position. But on the field he likes to defend. He is a very cheerful guy. As a grandfather, this makes me happy. We are generally happy people! – Metaratings.ru quotes Bykov.
Vyacheslav Bykov, now 64, is unemployed. His last club was SKA, with which he stopped collaborating in 2015. As head of the Russian national team, Bykov won gold at the world championships twice – in 2008 and 2009.
