Avangard CEO: “Until July 30, this off-season was easier than the previous one, until the story with Tkachev paralyzed us”

The story of the injury of the striker Vladimir Tkachev had a negative impact on the preparation of the Omsk team “Avant-garde” for the season, club general director Anton Kuryanov said on .

Kuryanov reported on July 29 that Tkachev was seriously injured during the preparation. It can take up to eight months for a player to recover.

— Is this off-season easier than the previous one?

— Before July 30, it was easier, until the story with Volodya Tkachev brought us down. Restored in Moscow. I have never encountered such an injury; it is rare. Duration – from 3 to 6 months. A foot in a skate is not a foot in a boot. I think he will recover faster than if it were a football injury.

Reed Boucher is out for 2-4 weeks. We are considering who will replace him at the Omsk tournament.

— Was it difficult to get Darren Dietz from CSKA?

– They didn’t understand. He had some problems. We reached him. A day or two later, we agreed.

— Is it funny to ask about the club’s goals?

“I think so (smiles),” Kuryanov said on .

Tkachev has been playing for Avangard since 2022. Last season, he played 70 games with the team and scored 86 points (20 goals and 66 assists).

The new season of the FONBET Continental Hockey League starts on September 3. “Avangard” will face “Sibir” on home ice in the first match of the championship on September 4.
