“Once I lost my father, tennis helped me to overcome this situation. At the time of Koltsov’s death, I thought that I had to move on, do my own thing to separate my career and personal life.
I would say I had serious health problems. Because I didn’t stop. I went through very emotional and very stressful times. At some point, all of this greatly affected my mental health.
“Probably, in hindsight, I would say the best decision was to take a break, reboot and start again. But I did what I did,” Sabalenka told the Guardian.
