SKA captain Nikishin to miss KHL season opener due to injury, Rotenberg says

Defender of St. Petersburg SKA Alexander Nikishin will not take part in the opening match of the new FONBET KHL Championship season due to injury, team head coach Roman Rotenberg said.

— Today the situation is such that our captain Nikishin was injured. He will not play the opening match of the season. We have two captains – Evgeny Kuznetsov and Vasily Glotov. “We will solve this problem more thoroughly,” a correspondent reports, as Rotenberg said.

In the last Gagarin Cup, SKA lost to Avtomobilist in the second round (1-4). Nikishin was injured in the fifth game of the first round of the playoffs against Torpedo (4-1).
