Friday’s game ended 3:2 in overtime in favor of the Omsk team. For a long time, the only goal in the game was Avangard forward Ilya Reingardt, who scored in the 5th minute, but Lokomotiv’s Canadian newcomer Byron Fraze equalized the score in the 56th minute, and at 57:28 Maxim Shalunov scored the puck. Less than a minute later, Alexey Makeev scored Avangard’s second goal and sent the game into overtime.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3, on which day Lokomotiv will play for the opening Cup against Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
