Makeev, Avangard hockey player: “I was angry at myself and other people”

Avangard forward Alexey Makeev spoke about his adaptation to the new team after a difficult period in his career.

The 32-year-old forward signed a contract with the Omsk club on August 17; previously, Avtomobilist had not extended the agreement with him.

— You already scored in your first matches for Avangard. Did you miss hockey as much when you were without a team?

– I missed you somewhere. There is a great motivation to prove everything to yourself. I experienced such a difficult summer for the first time in my career. Therefore, I want to reach a new level.

— Do you have sports anger?

– You can say it. Anger at myself and also anger at some people.

— What are your impressions of the new team?

— A week in the team, I played the third match. I knew many guys before. Every day they help me and with every match mutual understanding is getting better and better. From the first conversation I understood the requirements of the coach and the club. You can feel how much everything here is imbued with hockey and how hungry everyone is for victories, ”Makeev said according to RB Sport.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3. “Avangard” will host “Sibir” from Novosibirsk on the 4th.
