Russian youth team and SKA forward Kirill Tankov told that he hopes to get a chance to prove himself at the St. Petersburg club.
In September 2022, Tankov, playing for SKA-Neva in the VHL championship, suffered a fracture of the cervical vertebra after Dynamo St. Petersburg defender Artem Maltsev pushed him onto the board. Due to a serious injury and subsequent rehabilitation, the SKA hockey player missed about a year.
— You held a training camp with the SKA team. Any hopes of playing for the team in the new season?
– There is hope. I hope they will give me a chance and an opportunity will come. I did a lot of training and got in shape. It was possible to train and relax during the training camp.
— You will play the last match of the Nikolai Puchkov tournament (in the Russian Olympic team) against SKA. Will the atmosphere be special?
– The game will be the same as for everyone else. Of course, it’s great to play against your own people, but the motivation and load will be the same, – Tankov told .
The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3.
