Nizhnekamsk “Neftekhimik” won “Magnitka” of the VHL during the opening match of the Ivan Romazan Memorial.
The KHL team won on Tuesday with a score of 2:1 (1:0, 1:0, 0:0). Dmitry Sokolov and Nikita Khlystov scored goals for Neftekhimik. Danila Bashkirov, sent to the VHL newcomer from Metallurg, scored for Magnitogorsk.
In May, Salavat Yulaev did not reiterate Metallurg’s contract offer to the striker. Bashkirov, 23, signed a three-year contract with the Magnitogorsk team.
The traditional Ivan Romazan Memorial Tournament is held in Magnitogorsk. In 2024, Salavat Yulaev and Metallurg will also take part in the tournament.
