SKA Head Coach Romain Rotenberg said the attacker Sergei Plotnikov is developing as a professional and performing better on the ice than in previous seasons.
On Tuesday, SKA defeated Severstal (5:3) in the pre-season tournament named after Nikolai Puchkov. Plotnikov did not take part in the match; the hockey player was hit in the face by a puck in the previous match against Ak Bars Kazan after throwing his partner Nikita Zaitsev.
— How does Plotnikov feel after the injury he received in the last match?
— I would like to mention Sergei and wish him health. He is the most important player in our team. I see that he is developing as a professional. When Plotnikov won the Gagarin Cup with SKA, he showed worse results in pre-season than he does now. “He has become much better over the years, like good red wine,” a correspondent reports, citing Rotenberg’s words.
On August 29, the tournament in St. Petersburg will end with a meeting between SKA and the Russian Olympic team.
