Attack “Siberia” Sergei Shirokov said he had no plans to end his career yet.
During the off-season, the 38-year-old hockey player signed a contract for the season with a team from Novosibirsk.
– Why do you remind about age? There is no need to talk about age, the management is sitting there (laughs). As for the end of my career, time will tell. As long as you want to come to the stadium every day, train and have fun. We’ll see what happens next, “Shirokov said at a press conference.
Shirokov played for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg for the last two seasons; before that, he played for Spartak Moscow and CSKA, Avangard Omsk and SKA St. Petersburg, with which he won the Gagarin Cup. In total, the forward played 811 games in the KHL and scored 515 points (226 goals and 289 assists).
With the national team, Shirokov became the winner of the 2018 Olympic Games and a two-time world champion.
