Razin worked as head coach of CSKA-2002 team in 2009-2011.
“The headmaster of the children’s school kicked me out because there were three children who had high-ranking fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers. And the parents of these children were not satisfied with their position in the team, with the child’s place in the lineup,” Razin said in Nikita Berezhkov’s special report “Razin’s Paradox” on .
Razin took over as head of Metallurg in April 2023 and led the team to the Gagarin Cup in the very first season. In the final, Metallurg defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl with a score of 4-0 in the series. At the closing ceremony of the season, Razin was recognized as the best coach in the KHL.
In early August, Razin extended his contract with Metallurg. The new agreement with the 50-year-old specialist runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The next season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3 with the opening Cup match between Metallurg and Lokomotiv.
