Neftekhimik defender Kiselevich suffered a concussion and was out for several weeks

Head coach of Nizhnekamsk “Neftekhimika “Oleg Leontiev reported that the defender Bogdan Kiselevich suffered a concussion and could miss two to three weeks.

On Friday, at the Ivan Romazan Memorial, Neftekhimik lost to Salavat Yulaev from Ufa with a score of 3:4 after a shootout. In the first period, Ufa defender Grigory Panin made a powerful move against Kiselevich. The Neftekhimik hockey player went to the stand zone, then returned to the bench, but did not appear on the ice again.

— We have already forgotten about the pre-season tournament. Here we pursued our goals: to test players and newcomers, to decide on the line-up. Unfortunately, ours is not optimal, there are many injuries. It is good that our newcomers and youngsters played a lot. We saw them in action against strong opponents.

Bogdan Kiselevich has a concussion. I think we lost him for two or three weeks. I won’t say for sure yet. Hockey is a tough sport. Panin made a forceful move within the rules, there are no complaints against him,” Leontiev told the official website of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Kiselevich, 34, moved to Neftekhimik in July. He is an Olympic champion and a world championship bronze medalist.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3.
