Goalkeeper Maxim Tretyak called it an honour to join Lada

Goalkeeper Lada Maxime Tretiak said it was a great honour for him to play for the Tolyatti team.

In May “Lada” announced the signing of a one-year contract with the 27-year-old goaltender. Maxim Tretyak is the grandson of the president of the Russian Hockey Federation (RFH), three-time Olympic champion and ten-time world champion Vladislav Tretyak.

“I received an offer and it suited me. I am very happy to be part of this team. The team, the technical staff, the city, the fans, everything is good. It is an honour to play for this club. And I will do my best to be useful.

— What is the atmosphere in the team before the start of the season?

— This year the team has set the bar very high and no one wants to lower it. Everyone understands the responsibility for the result to the fans, so I am sure that the players will give everything they have to win. There will be no indifferent people on the ice, RB Sport quoted Tretyak as saying.

Previously, Tretyak played for CSKA, Admiral, Dynamo Riga and Sochi. In total, he played 116 matches in the KHL, in which he won 20 times with a reliability coefficient of 3.62 and 89% of reflected shots.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3. In their opening match on September 5, Lada will host Lokomotiv.
