Father of Finnish striker Alexandra Barkova Alexander Barkov Sr. said his son’s path to winning the Stanley Cup took twenty-five years.
This summer, Barkov, 28, won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers. In seven games of the final series against the Edmonton Oilers, Barkov scored five points.
— Tell us how you followed your son’s success in the Stanley Cup Final?
– The whole family is happy. He had a long way to the Cup. He devoted his whole life to hockey, at the age of two I put him on skates, and for twenty-five years he went to this Cup.
“I watched the final from Russia so as not to disturb my son too much with my advice. I watched the matches on TV, I still wake up at five in the morning,” the correspondent reports, according to Barkov Sr.
