“It was a necessary measure, we had a lease agreement with Luzhniki, which ended. We wanted to return to Sokolniki, this is historically the place of Spartak, we considered this place as a good place for young players, we can gather a large group. The conditions in the new sports palace in Sokolniki for the Spartak youth hockey team are much better than in the small sports arena in Luzhniki,” Belyaev is quoted as saying by TASS.
The hockey club has been playing home games in Luzhniki since 2021, when the main team started playing in the KHL at Megasport Palace.
