Team Kazakhstan in hockey lost to the Slovak team in the qualifying match for the 2026 Olympic Games.
The match in Bratislava ended 3:1 in favour of the home team, with goals scored by Robert Lantosi, Pavol Regenda and Adam Liszka. Nikita Mikhailis scored for the losers.
According to the results of the qualifying tournament, the Slovaks took first place with 9 points, Kazakhstan (6 points) became second, the Austrian team (2 points) finished third, and the Hungarian team (1) finished fourth. Only the winner of the tournament receives a ticket to the Olympic Games.
Another qualifying tournament, which took place in Denmark, was won by the hosts. In the decisive match, the Danes beat the Norwegian team – 4:1.
The Kazakhstan national team participated in the Olympic Games twice – in 1998 and 2006.
The 2026 Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
