Source in Severstal told about an air incident that happened to a hockey team while they were traveling from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow.
Earlier, the Aviatorschina Telegram channel reported that on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a Superjet plane of the Severstal team sent a distress signal en route to Moscow. On Wednesday evening, Cherepovets hockey players played the first away game of the KHL season with Torpedo. To do this, on September 3, they flew to Nizhny Novgorod on a Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RA-89119) plane of the Severstal airline of the same name.
After beating the opponent with a score of 3:0, the team flew at one o’clock in the morning to Moscow, where the match with Dynamo will take place. But while flying at an altitude of 8,550 meters, 60 km southeast of the city of Vladimir, a fire alarm went off in the luggage compartment of the cockpit. The crew reported this to the dispatchers, suggesting that the indication might be false.
Nevertheless, the pilots issued a distress signal, called the fire department and straightened the route for landing at Sheremetyevo. A code blue alert was declared at the airport. A few minutes later, the plane landed safely. During the post-flight inspection, ground services found no damage to the plane or its systems. There was also no trace of smoke or fire. The plane was temporarily suspended from flights. A few hours later, the Superjet took off for Cherepovets. The Federal Air Transport Agency classified the event as an aviation incident and began investigating.

And the newcomers from Severstal thought that this was in accordance with the KHL protocol, and we are always greeted like that.

The Dynamo – Severstal match will take place on September 6 and will start at 19:30 (Moscow time).
