Head coach of Spartak Moscow Alexei Jamnov After the victory over CSKA, he explained why he does not use a full list of forwards for KHL matches.
On Thursday, Spartak beat CSKA with a score of 4:2 in the FONBET KHL championship match at their home arena.
— Why don’t you use all the attackers?
“We used it last season and I can say that the player sits on the bench and loses training, but it is better for him to play. Nobody will push someone here artificially. If a person wins the competition or at least plays at the same level, we will bet on it. We need guys to grow and develop. If borderline players appear and deserve to play in the main team, I completely agree – any coach will tell you that.
“Why should a guy sit on the bench if he can train in Khimik? That’s the only reason why we don’t use full forwards. If someone is injured, we have hockey players who can play on two lines,” the correspondent reports, citing Zhamnov’s words.
