The plane with Lokomotiv hockey players on board crashed on September 7, 2011 while climbing. The plane contained the entire base team and coaching staff of the Yaroslavl club, as well as eight crew members. 43 people died instantly; Lokomotiv forward Alexander Galimov died of his injuries in hospital on September 12. We will always remember every Lokomotiv hockey player who tragically died 13 years ago. It was a champion team with great ambitions; this tragedy will forever remain in the hearts of every hockey fan and player. But life goes on, and we will believe and hope that such tragedies will never happen again,” Kamensky told .
On September 7, the matches “Lada” – SKA, “Vityaz” – “Amur”, “Spartak” – “Sochi” and “Torpedo” – “Ak Bars” will take place.
