Athletistic / Hockey. Former SKA forward Maxim Rybin shared his opinion on the play of the captain of the Neva military team, Evgeny Kuznetsov. The 32-year-old Russian returned to the KHL after 10 years of playing in North America.
“We will not judge SKA’s prospects by the first match, but Kuznetsov is a master who must score and lead the team. On paper, SKA has a very strong team, but Kuznetsov is the adornment of the entire KHL, and not just the St. Petersburg team.
At the moment it is too early to say anything about SKA’s readiness for the current season. One or two matches do not mean anything. Now the team has new guys, they are playing at maximum speed,” Rybin was quoted as saying by Metaratings.ru.
Evgeny Kuznetsov is a two-time world champion with the Russian national team. With the Washington Capitals, he won the Stanley Cup in 2018. In both starting games of the current KHL season, Kuznetsov has scored one goal.
