Athletistic / Hockey. News continues to pour in regarding the tragic death of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau. The hockey player’s widow, Meredith Gaudreau, announced her pregnancy at her husband’s funeral.
“We’re actually a family of five. I’m now nine weeks pregnant with my third child. The news came as a complete surprise to me, but Johnny was beaming again and incredibly excited. I was so nervous, but he hugged me. “She hugged me right away, even though I was driving our car at the time,” Meredith said in her farewell speech, a video of which was posted on social media.
Johnny Gaudreau tragically died along with his brother Matthew in New Jersey. The two were riding their bikes when they were hit by a motorist. According to preliminary data, he was intoxicated. The 31-year-old American left behind a pregnant wife and two young children.
Johnny Gaudreau spent the last two seasons in Columbus, and before that he was a member of the Calgary Flames for nine years.
