“Ovechkin is a legend, a legendary hockey player! I hope he scores enough goals to pass Wayne Gretzky. I hope he’s already scored 42 goals this season!
It’s very nice to play with such hockey players. When you grow up and mature, you watch them a lot. And then you go on the ice against them… As a young player, you wait for this for a long time, you hope for it. When it happens, it’s an incredible moment. It was cool!” Ruzicka reportedly told “Championship.”
Alexander Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since the fall of 2005. The Russian has currently scored 853 goals in the NHL’s regular season. So far, he is 41 goals behind Wayne Gretzky (894). Note that the Great Eight’s contract with the Washington Capitals is valid for two more seasons.
