— In the last playoffs, you were in and out of the lineup and the team was fighting for the Gagarin Cup. How difficult was it not to give up, but to continue trying to help in every way possible?
– You are right, it is a difficult situation. But first of all, I came to Lokomotiv for the Gagarin Cup. I believed in the team, we were close. If they did not expect me to help them in attack, then they should have helped at least in defense – I attacked every puck and I do not think there are any questions about my dedication. I made all the adjustments, but without results.
— If you look for positive things in the Yaroslavl stage of your career, can you say that the period at Lokomotiv made you a more versatile player?
– 100%. Previously, I watched hockey only from the offensive side. Now I know both sides of the coin and understand how to play defensively. Igor Valerievich and I talked so many times about various little things and details that now I can write an encyclopedia about defense (laughs). Undoubtedly, I learned a lot, ”Chekhovich said at the Championship.
Earlier, the forward was offered for the draft by Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Chekhovich became a Vityaz player last week, the hockey player’s contract is for one season.
