Athletistic / Hockey. Former Washington Capitals forward Steven Peet has died at the age of 44, the NHL Alumni Association reported.
A source claims Pete’s tragic death was due to injuries sustained in an accident just over two weeks ago.
Steven Peet entered the NHL through the draft – in 1998, he was selected in the second round, 32nd overall. In 2000, the forward was traded to Washington. As part of the Capitals, Stephen played 130 games in the NHL regular season and scored 10 (8+2) points for his performance. He ended his professional career at the end of the 2006/2007 season, already playing in the AHL at that time.
This is the second tragic news involving former or current NHL hockey players in the past month. Earlier, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau passed away at the age of 32. He tragically died under the wheels of a car.
