— Znarok goes to the Philadelphia Flyers. After a successful 22-year professional career as a player, Znarok began his coaching career in 2002 and gradually established himself as one of the best coaches in Europe, a statement from the American club said.
Previously, Znarok worked with the national teams of Latvia and Russia, as well as HC MVD, Dynamo Moscow, SKA, Spartak and Ak Bars, and has been without a club since 2022. In 2018, with the Russian team, he became the winner of the Olympic Games and four years earlier, the world champion.
Former Flyers player Wayne Simmonds has become Philadelphia’s hockey operations consultant. He will also serve as the club’s public relations ambassador.
The 36-year-old Canadian retired this year after 15 NHL seasons, including eight with the Flyers. He also played for Los Angeles, Nashville, New Jersey, Buffalo and Toronto.
