Nichushkin had previously been sent to the third stage of the NHL’s player assistance program. Under the terms of the program, he will be suspended from games and practices with the team without pay for at least six months before he can apply for reinstatement.
— Nichushkin should be cleared to play. We expect him to be back by mid-November,” Sakic said on AltitudeSR, as quoted by The Hockey Latest.
Nichushkin’s contract in Colorado, which carries a cap hit of $6.125 million, runs through the end of the 2029/30 season.
