Defenseman Victor Hedman will be the Lightning’s captain for the new season, and another defensive player, Ryan McDonagh, will be the second alternate captain.
“We are very pleased that Hedman has become the 11th captain in franchise history. He is respected by his teammates, coaches and colleagues across the league. Over the past 15 seasons, he has been an excellent representative of our organization both on and off the ice. “Victor embodies what it means to be a member of Tampa Bay and he is more than ready for this role,” said Lightning general manager Julien Brisebois.
Kucherov took first place in the list of regular season scorers of the 2023/24 season, scoring 144 points (44 goals + 100 assists) in 81 matches, in 5 playoff matches he made 7 assists.
