General Manager of the NHL club “Vegas Golden Knights “Kelly McCrimmon said it was no surprise to the team that the goaltender Robin Lehner did not arrive at training camp.
The 33-year-old Swede has not played in the NHL since April 2022. Lehner did not travel with the team for a mandatory medical exam this week.
— This year, he will not report to the club. He is still unable to play. There are unique circumstances surrounding this situation that the NHL, the players’ union and our club are working through. We are evaluating our next steps and when we have more information, we will announce a decision,” the general manager said according to The Hockey News.
Lehner is Vegas’ highest-paid goaltender. He is in the final year of his contract with a salary of $5 million. The player had previously reported that he was suffering from various mental issues.
