Kazan “Ak Bars” striker Egor Korchkov said he would be happy if the same number of matches were played in the regular season of the FONBET KHL Championship as in the NHL.
This season, the 28-year-old forward has made six regular season appearances for Ak Bars, in which he has scored two goals.
— What do you think of the new calendar?
– There is more time to recover. Last year it was not like that: the matches were played every two days. Everyone’s body reacts differently. I liked it better this year: you are constantly in shape. But now it is possible to heal microtraumas – that is also a plus.
— How about increasing the number of games to 82, like in the NHL?
“I would be happy,” Korshkov was quoted as saying by RB Sport.
After six games, Ak Bars has eight points and is in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. In the next match, the Kazan team will meet Togliatti Lada on September 25.
