Spartak Moscow striker Mikhail Maltsev explained why he wanted to play with Chelyabinsk Traktor.
On Monday, Spartak beat Traktor on penalties with a score of 3:2 in the away match of the FONBET KHL Championship.
— The match was equal. We tried to keep the lead, but we lacked concentration in the last three to five minutes. Traktor players attacked well and scored. But it’s good that we won; we proved to be more skillful in penalty kicks.
— How would you rate your opponent?
— It’s interesting to play against Traktor; at home, the team is always pushed by the stands. We have the same style, so the match turned out to be balanced.
— You have also been supported by a large sector of fans.
– Yes, we heard them. Our fans were in Novosibirsk and here. “Thanks to them,” Maltsev told RB Sport.
After seven matches, Spartak is in fourth place in the Western Conference standings with 11 points.
