Head Coach “Avant-garde” Sergei Zvyagin said the team started the regular season match of the FONBET KHL Championship against “Lokomotiv” better than his opponent, but still doesn’t deserve to win.
On Wednesday, Avangard lost to Lokomotiv with a score of 2:3. This is the sixth consecutive defeat for the Omsk club.
— It’s not so easy to talk after another lost game. We started the match better, but apparently we didn’t deserve any more points or victories. This time, it was the unnecessary suppressions that let us down. We could have won the first half, but it didn’t work; the opponent punished us. What we do offensively is not enough for us. There were moments from which we could have made more.
“There are no visible changes in Lokomotiv’s game. It is a machine that continues from match to match. It is clear that Boucher is not in top form, but even if he is not in ideal condition, he is a lion on the ice, a real leader of the team,” Zvyagin was quoted as saying by the correspondent.
In the next match, Avangard will face Traktor on September 27.
