Noah Gregor and Adam Gaudette scored for Ottawa in regulation. For Buffalo, Isak Rosen and Joshua Denn scored goals.
Buffalo’s Russian defender Vsevolod Komarov provided two assists. The Blades’ Russian striker Viktor Neuchev provided an assist in overtime.
The new NHL season begins on October 4.
