SKA Defender Anthony DeAngelo spoke about his debut for the club in the FONBET KHL championship match with Severstal.
The St. Petersburg team won at home on Friday with a score of 8:3, DeAngelo had three assists.
— You made your debut against one of the most active teams in the KHL. What is your impression?
— Yes, Severstal moved the puck very well and showed skillful hockey. A good opponent. But we were well prepared and executed the game plan. Somehow we caught them making mistakes and converted their defeats into goals. I feel good, my legs have already felt the game. The tone is important, I haven’t played for a long time. I’m very happy to play at home, thank you very much to the fans.
— What do you think of the city built by an Italian?
— St. Petersburg is incredible. There is an Italian spirit here. I haven’t had time to walk around yet, I flew to get a visa and only came back yesterday. I really wanted to play, I went straight to the match, so I haven’t had time to see the city yet. “I played without preparation, I just went out to train in the morning,” reports the correspondent, according to De Angelo.
SKA won its fifth consecutive victory, scored 13 points and moved to second place in the Western Conference, two points behind leader Lokomotiv. Severstal loses for the third time in a row and is 6th in the West with 10 points.
