Commissioner of the National Hockey League (NHL) Gary Bettman said the salary cap next season could increase as much as $92.5 million, according to the NHL press service.
The salary cap is expected to be around $92.5 million, an increase of $4.5 million from this season’s $88 million. However, Bettman cautioned that these figures are “too preliminary.”
It also became known that the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association would begin negotiations on a new collective agreement in early 2025.
The new NHL season begins on October 4.
