Former Vityaz head coach joined Avangard headquarters

Russian specialist Alexander Zavialov joined the coaching staff of Omsk “Avant-garde “, reports the club’s press service.

In the new team, the 54-year-old coach will be responsible for working with the defenders.

— Playing defense is a fundamental moment in the game of any team. We can act much better in defense, which is why we invited an experienced coach to work in this area. Alexander Zavyalov is a thoughtful specialist who worked in well-known clubs with different tactical models. “He has excellent communication skills, has good contact with players, which means he can quickly join our team,” Avangard general director Anton Kuryanov commented on the appointment.

Previously, Zavyalov worked as an assistant head coach at Torpedo, Ak Bars, Traktor, Neftekhimik, Amur, Vityaz and Siberia, and last season he led Vityaz alone.

Avangard, led by Sergei Zvyagin, occupies 8th place in the Eastern Conference with 9 points. This season, the team experienced a streak of seven consecutive defeats, which they managed to end on September 30 with a voluntary victory against Siberia (3:2).
