Columbus’ Russian striker Dmitry Voronkov suffered a lower body injury during a preseason game National Hockey League (NHL) with Pittsburgh, reports the Blue Jackets press service.
According to media reports, the forward was injured during the first shift and spent about 15 seconds on the ice. The Penguins won 3:1.
Head coach Blue jackets Dean Evason did not provide details on Voronkov’s injury, emphasizing that the Russian was still being evaluated.
Voronkov, 24, had three assists in five preseason games. In total, he played 75 games in the NHL, in which he scored 34 (18+16) points.
