Russian attacker “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin took 80th place in the list of the 100 best players in the National Hockey League (NHL) according to The Score journalists.
Another Russian, Evgeni Malkin, who plays for Pittsburgh, is on the 93rd line. Russian Carolina forward Andrei Svechnikov rounds out the top 100.
Ovechkin, 39, ranks second on the NHL’s all-time goalscoring list with 853 goals, behind Wayne Gretzky (894). With Washington, the Russian won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
Last season, Ovechkin played 79 games in the NHL, in which he scored 65 (31+34) points.
The new NHL season begins on October 4.
