“Florida, take care.” Former Tampa captain Stamkos talks about Hurricane Milton approaching the US state

Former captain of an NHL club Tampa Bay Lightning Steven Stamkos urged Floridians to take care before Hurricane Milton hits the state.

Forecasters expect Hurricane Milton to make landfall on the Florida coast between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. local time (5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Thursday Moscow time). A severe storm warning is in effect for the entire west coast of Florida. The coastline between Tampa and Fort Myers could see up to 15 feet of flooding.

– Take care of yourself, Florida! My heart goes out to all the great people of Tampa,” Stamkos wrote on the social network.

Former Tampa player Stamkos traded the Lightning for Nashville during the offseason.

Earlier it became known that the Tampa team, for which Russian hockey players Andrei Vasilevsky and Nikita Kucherov play, left Florida due to the approach of a hurricane. The players traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina to continue preparing for the season opener against Carolina on October 11.

The Florida Panthers, who won the Stanley Cup last season, are also based in Florida and feature Russians Sergei Bobrovsky and Dmitry Kulikov.
