Russian goalkeeper New York Rangers Igor Shesterkin said the team did a serious job on defense in the NHL regular season opener against Pittsburgh Penguins .
The meeting in Pittsburgh ended with a victory for the guests with a score of 6:0. Shesterkin stopped 29 shots and became the second star of the game. For the 28-year-old Russian, this is the 16th shutout of his NHL career.
– I feel good. Excellent work. In the first 10 minutes, Pittsburgh pushed hard for the goal. So the team did a great job near my goal and I just tried to play my game,” Shesterkin is quoted on the NHL website.
The Rangers will host Utah in their next game on October 12.
