Dynamo Minsk striker Vadim Shipachev broke the record for most points scored by a player in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), including the playoffs.
The 37-year-old Russian took to the ice on Tuesday in the FONBET KHL championship game against Severstal Cherepovets. In the first period, the attacker scored an assist and scored his 929th (291+638) point in KHL .
In terms of score indicator in the KHL, Shipachev surpassed the former Metallurg striker Sergei Moziakin which has 928 (419+509) points.
Shipachev is a two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup (2015, 2017) as part of SKA. Also in the KHL he played for Severstal Cherepovets, Dynamo Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan. As a member of the Russian national team, the forward won gold at the 2014 World Championships and the 2018 Olympics, as well as bronze at the 2022 Olympics.
