Triple world champion Alexei Tereshchenko stated that the resignation of the head coach “Cupid” Andrei Martemianov became a logical consequence of the team’s results.
On Monday, Martemyanov left the post of head coach of the Khabarovsk club. The contract was terminated early by agreement of the parties. Amur’s losing streak has already lasted seven matches.
— Andrei Martemyanov’s resignation from Amur is probably logical, because the team’s results are not very good. It’s always the coach’s fault. There is an experienced team there. Maybe thefts have bad consequences. In the last match against Dynamo, Amur did not create anything. The problem is the club’s development strategy. Let’s see what the management gets from this,” Tereshchenko told RB Sport.
Martemyanov took charge of Amur in May 2023. Under his leadership, last season the team reached the playoffs from eighth place in the Eastern Conference, losing to Metallurg in the first round.
