Attack “Colorado” Valery Nichushkin could return to the team in the NHL regular season game against Washington, reporter Arif Dean reports, citing Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar.
In May, Nichushkin entered the third stage of the NHL’s player assistance program. He was suspended for 6 months without pay.
On Monday, the Russian striker was allowed to train and gave his first lesson with the team.
Colorado’s game against Washington is November 15.
Nichushkin won the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2022. Last season, he played in 54 regular season games and scored 53 (28+25) points.
