A second suspect in the case of the death of Khakass Metallurg hockey player Artem Tortochakov was arrested in Abakan, reports the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the territory of Krasnoyarsk and Khakassia.
As part of the criminal investigation, the involvement of a 27-year-old resident of Chernogorsk was established.
According to investigators, on the night of November 2-3, the victim and a friend were relaxing in a nightclub in Abakan. After the establishment closed, around 5 a.m., a slight conflict took place between the victim and one of the suspects; the men came out and continued to set things straight.
As a result, two men hit the victim repeatedly with their hands and feet on the head. Subsequently, the participants in the conflict moved to another section of the street, where they continued the fight.
As a result of bodily injuries, the athlete lost consciousness. He was taken to hospital. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man could not be saved and he died.
It is clarified that the second person involved in the case was interrogated and, when checking the testimonies on the spot, spoke in detail about the circumstances of the fight. The question of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
