Canadian forward from Metallurgi Scott Wilson believes that Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov is the best Russian hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL).
This season, Kucherov scored 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in 14 NHL regular season games.
— Who can you call the best player in the NHL?
– McDavid, without a doubt. This is the person around whom the team is built. A very strong and equipped player.
— What if we chose one of the Russians?
– I’m thinking of Kucherov.
— Will Ovechkin manage to beat Gretzky’s record?
– I don’t doubt it. The only question is: how long will it take? Ovechkin has two seasons left, so there’s plenty of time,” Wilson said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
